The Reference 3.5 utilises PURIFI woofers in a larger enclosure, allowing for lower dynamic compression and extended bass response. It incorporates a specialised midrange version of the PURIFI driver with a lighter, faster voice coil, achieving remarkably low distortion levels below -70 dB. The speaker boasts a larger ribbon tweeter, contributing to its increased sensitivity – approximately 4dB higher than the Immanence line.
